A Better Cancer Detox
By Dr. Gary Gautier
VITAMIN C [Ascorbic acid] is crucial for use together with other antioxidants. However, eating well can, by itself, provide sufficient Vitamin C. Much scientific research has been done on this vitamin, particularly the initial cases handled by Dr. Linus Pauling regarding cancer studies. Pauling’s work helped lead the way to other studies showing that antioxidant power is our natural defense against cancer.
Benefits from Vitamin C:
-When combined with other antioxidants and selenium, helps to suppress cancer growth
-Kills Leukemia cells with doses of 500mg or higher
-Strengthens blood vessels
-Prevents kidney stones
-Lowers the risk of Alzheimer’s disease (with buffered C)
Calcium ascorbate or magnesium ascorbate are buffered forms of vitamin C. Buffering makes it non acidic, thus helping to prevent the outbreak of Herpes sores on the mouth or genitals. Pure ascorbic acid and sodium ascorbate can be a problem because of sodium, which is associated with bladder cancer.
Again, as most vitamins, vitamin C is found in foods like fruits and vegetables.
If you’re getting your vitamin C from a supplement, try to take it on an empty stomach to prevent excess iron absorption. Acquiring vitamin C from food sources prevents increased iron absorption because of the preventive action of flavonoids. Iron is a major catalyst for cancer, neurodegenerative diseases, and many free radical diseases like diabetes, Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s, arthritis, and dementia.
